St. Joseph Parish Charities Mobile Mall
Many Hands – Many Miracles
Saint Joseph’s Mobile Mall is called to the task of lending a helping hand to anyone in need. Named the Mobile Mall because it travels to various sites and provides those in need the opportunity to shop (mall) from the wide variety of donated articles. The Mobile Mall inspires and instills within people the desire to fill their basic needs in life with a sense of dignity, belonging, and compassion.
Volunteer
We are always in need of volunteers! Join us Wednesdays at 7:30am at the “St. Basil the Great” donation trailer to sort and organize donations in preparation for distributions.
Students! Donating your time to help at the St. Joseph Parish Mobile Mall is an opportunity to earn Community Service hours. Come to help on sorting days or accompany the distribution during the summer months or school breaks.
Please note that during the rainy season sorting and distribution may be cancelled due to inhospitable weather.
Donate
The Mobile Mall currently accepts donations daily between 8:00am and 5:00pm. Donations may be dropped off inside the “St. Basil the Great” storage container located behind the church on the southwest corner of the rear parking lot. Unfortunately, donations left outside of the monthly drop off window are often discarded and unused.
Americans each discard an average of 68 pounds of clothing every year. You can put some of that to good use by donating to the Mobile Mall. The Mobile Mall is always in need of children’s and teens’ clothing. Toys and children’s books, bed and bath linens are also welcome. Other needed household goods are dinnerware, cookware, flatware, baking pans, and unused personal hygienic items such as shampoo, shaving cream, tooth paste, tooth brushes, disposable razors, deodorant, and soap. Acceptable donations are in good condition and free of stains and rips.
Please note that the Mobile Mall cannot accept electronics (E-Waste) or furniture. For electronic items please contact E-Waste for Good (Tri Valley Recycling) at 1-800-317-3112 or http://www.ewaste4good.com. Goodwill centers will accept discarded electronics.
